REUTERS, the world’s largest financial news organisation, is looking for a news assistant in the Kuala Lumpur bureau to help cover the palm, rubber, cocoa and tin markets in South East Asia. Reuters has a strong, global reputation for covering commodities markets, feeding news to almost 400,000 financial and media professionals worldwide. This is a chance for an ambitious, hard-working reporter to gain priceless experience and build a reputation.
The successful candidate will work with the commodities correspondent to collect export and production data, conduct market polls, update price tables and write routine market reports. He or she must be able to develop trust with sources, write clearly and be a good team player.
A university degree and fluency in English and Malay are essential. The job is on a short-term contract basis
